Has the institution developed a definition of sustainability research?:
Yes

A copy of the institution's definition of sustainability research:

Sustainability research focuses on a key principle of sustainability (such as social equity or environmental stewardship); addresses a sustainability challenge (such as climate change or poverty); or furthers our understanding of the interconnectedness of societal and environmental challenges. Sustainability research leads toward solutions that support economic prosperity, social well-being, and ecological health.

Has the institution identified its sustainability research activities and initiatives?:
Yes

A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the inventory:

During Fall 2011, faculty responded to a survey asking whether they conduct research and, if so, whether any of their research is related to sustainability according to Pacific's definition. Those who conduct sustainability-related research and granted permission have their name, department, and topic of research listed on Pacific's sustainability research website. (Note that not all faculty gave permission to have their information listed on the website.)

Does the institution make its sustainability research inventory publicly available online?:
Yes
