The Robert Redford Conservancy for Southern CA Sustainability at Pitzer College offers modest financial course support of up to $500 for classes that incorporate sustainability foci into their curriculum. This program is in its second year. In its first year, this incentive led to the creation of two new classes at Pitzer College: a painting class (Emphasis on Locality) and an Asian American Studies class (Science, Technology, Asian America).
This year (2015-2016), Pitzer's Redford Conservancy is supporting courses in Sociology (Introduction to Sociology) , Political Science (Agrarian Political Rebellion) and Photography (Ecopoetics and Photography) that have incorporated sustainability into their curriculum.
Positive outcomes of these courses vary, and include engaging students with questions around environmental sustainability from various disciplinary perspectives, engaging with communities involved in environmental justice issues, and working on agricultural projects on campus.

In its first year, the Robert Redford Conservancy for Southern CA Sustainability at Pitzer College was able to offer $1500 to faculty for developing new or revising current courses to incorporate themes of sustainability.
Given budget issues, the financial support has been reduced, but still continues via offering course support of up to $500 for classes that incorporate sustainability foci into their curriculum.
