A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:

We used our staff engagement survey to evaluate employee satisfaction based on a number of questions designed to reveal staff engagement and satisfaction (among other things). We also reviewed text responses to open ended questions on what employee’s likes best and what they liked least about working at Princeton. The survey was anonymous and we suppress answers if we did not receive a large enough response rate so that confidentiality was assured.


A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation (including examples from the previous three years):

The senior leadership has all been informed of the survey results. Within the past three years all units have established “Unit Planning” committees which are tasked with creating a more inclusive and diverse environment for the employees in their units. Several units have established newsletters to help their employees stay informed and remain engaged.
