A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution:
Principia College supports students wanting to learn more about a particular sustainability issue and/or an applied sustainable skill set through conferences, speakers and workshops, intern/externships, study abroad (and domestic field) programs, and independent coursework. There have been two sustainability-focused study abroad programs (Iceland 2012, Finland 2016). Energy and emissions auditing, permaculture design principles, renewable energy fundamentals, land/species conservation, beekeeping, sustainable purchasing, and sustainable business practices are among the many skill sets/knowledge bases students have gained from these varied experiences.
