Yes

A brief description of the event(s):

The Sustainability Office works with Student Sustainability groups and other College departments to hold variety of sustainability events throughout the year.

- A week-long Earth-a-Thon event included a series of events at the College's two main campuses including hosting the Province's first Reel Green Film Festival, having a live bird presentation (an hawk flew through our cafeteria!) and having a variety of environmental organizations on-hand to raise awareness about a variety of environmental causes.

- To celebrate Earth Day, the Recycling Team bagged 200 pounds of compost from our on-site compost pile and gave them away to students and staff to fertilize their flower beds at home. Food Services gave free fill to anyone who purchased their coffee with a reusable mug.

- The College holds an annual "State of Sustainability" to coincide with Earth Day and to celebrate the College's recognition as one of Canada's Greenest Employers. For the 2012 State of Sustainability, students and staff were invited to a main hallway on campus to review our one-year sustainability workplan (Sustainability 365), make their own sustainability pledge, eat a 100% local foods menu and win great green prizes - like a rain barrel and backyard composter.
