A brief description of the institution’s programs that help increase the diversity of higher education faculty :

RRC offers a Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)to allow individuals to develop skills for teaching adults in an applied or technical-vocational college setting. Recognizing that a successful college system depends on the competence of the institution's faculty, the CAE develops subject area expertise, knowledge and skills related to teaching and learning. These skill sets enhance the effectiveness of college and adult educators as well as adult technical-vocational education. The CAE is available for Faculty and staff to take free of charge, thus eliminating a financial barrier to faculty development.

RRC partners with the University of Manitoba to advance the field of social work practice and social policy through the Social Work Program as a Field Practicum placement and In-Agency Program Supervisor. We mentor and provide learning objectives, field experience in the educational discipline and the student in turn advances their interest and exposure to RRC. The hope is that they will graduate as a Social Worker and consider employment at RRC. All practicum students are Aboriginal and placed in the School of Indigenous Education with an Aboriginal counsellor. Given how challenging it is to source an Aboriginal Social Worker in the field of education as a counsellor or faculty member, this program helps to ensure that faculty and staff reflect the student population.
