A brief description of the native plant program, policy, or practice:
Richland College Facilities Grounds Department has designed and implemented several new outdoor planters and planting beds that feature native plants to the region, including Texas Sage, Desert Willow, Muhly Grass, Red Yucca, and Lantana. Bioswales of native plant material around Sabine Hall filter and direct collected water to underground cistern for reuse in irrigation and building functions. Richland’s TLC Labyrinth, a campus feature dedicated meditation and peace, is planted with native Mexican feather grass.
