All re-use and re-cycling of computer equipment is handled by the Information Systems staff. Any need to remove or replace equipment is generated through a formal “Help-Desk” system.
A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for institution-generated materials:
All peripheral computer equipment, such as mice, keyboards, cords, and other minor devices are recycled via the contracted waste management vendors. All computers, monitors, printers, etc., that can be re-used within the college, for staff or programs that have lesser memory, speed, or other needs are transferred internally. Computer and electronic equipment that can no longer be useful is sent for either re-use or recycling through a 3rd party vendor, Stouffer’s, Inc. Stouffer’s typically advertises to the rest of the district, and outside the District for re-assignment and re-use, or if obslolete, sends the equipment to recyclers.

Rio Salado College has no control over student generated materials, as no students are resident, and all of the curriculum is provided on-line. The re-use and recycle options are available to those students
