Does the institution make cultural competence trainings and activities available to all employees?:
Yes

A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:

Royal Roads University makes cultural competence trainings available to all employees. Aboriginal Awareness Week was held on campus June 21st to 24. Led by Greg Sam, Aboriginal Relations Coordinator, the school invited everyone at the university, local First Nations communities and other local community members to join together in celebrating Aboriginal Awareness Week. The purpose of Aboriginal Awareness Week is to celebrate the relationships that are built, to recognize and honor the coming together of people and communities, and for Royal Roads University to continue its learning and understanding of Aboriginal culture and history.

Royal Roads University hosted its first Annual PRIDE Speaker Event, Tuesday June 29, 2010. The event, organized by University Life, coincided with Victoria's PRIDE Week and is part of a series of public events designed to support and promote empowerment for all sexual orientations and gender identities.

These events are available to all employees.
