By election or appointment to the appropriate role in Student Government Association, Student Bar Association, Graduate Student Association, Residence Hall Association, Commuter Student Association and others. Academic departments may host their own advisory groups. The Board of Trustees has a number of standing committees that include faculty, staff and student representatives

Staff who are not part of a collective bargaining unit are eligible to join the Staff Advisory Committee, SAC, electronically via our website (slu.edu/sac). Members are encouraged to participate in committees and attend monthly meetings in person or via webinar. Anyone interested may complete a membership application at any time during the year. Elections are held annually in the spring for the executive committee of SAC. Members of SAC have representatives on 20 University and 5 Board of Trustee Committees including the University Leadership Council, President's Coordinating Council, President's Advisory Council, and the President's Diversity Council.

A brief description of the bodies and mechanisms through which teaching and research faculty are engaged in governance, including information to support each affirmative response above:

Members of the Faculty may participate in the Faculty Senate, which consist of representatives of the full-time Faculty as defined in the current edition of the Faculty Manual. The representatives shall be elected by the respective faculties of the individual schools and colleges, and the university libraries, in accordance with the Bylaws of the Faculty and Faculty Senate. Faculty may also serve on University committees. In addition, the academic units of the university have faculty assemblies, through which faculty can participate in matters of concern to the particular units. The Board of Trustees has a number of standing committees that include faculty representatives. Faculty members do have "representatives" on the various Board Committees. Those individuals are appointed by the Faculty Senate Executive Committee. They are "representatives" of the Senate and are not official Board members and are not official Committee members. They are there to provide faculty input into the Committees' decision-making process but do not have voting authority in Committee decisions.

The St. Louis Midtown Redevelopment Corporation (the “Developer”) is a Missouri redevelopment corporation formed pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 353 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri (2004), as amended, and jointly governed by Saint Louis University and SSM Health. The Board of Directors of the Developer will initially include a representative of the officers of Saint Louis University; a senior facilities administrator of Saint Louis University; a representative of the faculty of Saint Louis University; a senior executive of SSM Health St. Louis; and an independent planner. It is contemplated that a Planning Committee and a Citizens Advisory Committee will be formed, each initially consisting of 5-9 members, to furnish advice and consultation to the Board of Directors.
