Has the institution chosen a sustainability-related theme for its themed semester, year, or first-year experience during the past three years?:
Yes

A brief description of the themed semester, year, or first-year experience:

The 2010-2011 campus-wide diversity theme, offered by the Office for Multicultural Learning, is "Legacies". This theme "signifies what we inherit and what we leave behind. It lends itself to exploring the legacies of past oppression, struggle, and successes while asking us to consider what we will choose to create and leave behind for future generations."

The sustainability-related book that was chosen, if applicable:
The Open Spaces of Democracy by Terry Tempest Williams was read by all incoming Freshmen in the summer of 2010.
