University goals for SCU Undergraduates: Promotion of a More Humane, Just, and Sustainable World – Students will develop social justice values and make choices to act in light of the world’s greatest needs.
To reach this competency, students may:
● Expand awareness and knowledge of local, national and global social justice issues
● Describe various obstacles/injustices that certain communities face
● Empathize with marginalized individuals
● Recognize and confront injustice and oppression
● Employ technological or entrepreneurial innovations in service of humanity
● Incorporate socially and environmentally sound practices into their life
● Be aware of the impacts of their actions on humanity and the rest of nature.
● Identify concrete ways to contribute to a just world
● Expand knowledge of existing networks and groups working for social change

- All undergraduate students must take a course centered around Experiential Learning for Social Justice. Institution-wide learning objectives for these classes include:
"Recognize, analyze, and understand the social reality and injustices in contemporary society, including recognizing the relative privilege or marginalization of their own and other groups. (Social Justice)"
