Does the institution have an ongoing program or programs that offer incentives for faculty in multiple disciplines or departments to develop new sustainability courses and/or incorporate sustainability into existing courses?:
Yes

A brief description of the program(s), including positive outcomes during the previous three years (e.g. descriptions of new courses or course content resulting from the program):

The Penstemon Project is designed for faculty outside of the traditional environmentally focused disciplines to find ways to incorporate sustainability into their curriculum–-either as class content or in the way their class functions. With the help of the Penstemon Project, 395 classes were added in 2015 that are either sustainability focused or include sustainability components.

A brief description of the incentives that faculty members who participate in the program(s) receive:

Santa Clara University offers summer stipends to faculty to add sustainability components to existing courses or to develop new courses with a sustainability focus. These stipends vary between $500 and $2,000, depending on the amount of work involved. The SCU Faculty Development Program and Penstemon Project 2.0 grant between $6,000 and $12,000 in summer stipends to incentivize faculty each year.
