The Seattle Central Office of Parking and Transportation, with student support, has been advocating with City of Seattle and King County for several years to improve the public transportation card for students. The Office of Parking and Transportation is committed to lowering the costs of public transportation for our students.

On December 19, 2016, Seattle Central College President signed and joined a diverse group of Higher Education Institutions in a letter to the new Congressional delegation and incoming Presidential transition team. The letter begins by stating we, "recognize our academic and ethical responsibilities to current and future generations to take aggressive climate action; to reduce our sector’s carbon pollution, to support interdisciplinary climate education, and to continue research that expands our understanding of rapidly changing earth systems."

The Seattle Central College President signed a letter to the new Trump administration in December 2016 asking that the federal government support the Paris Agreement, an international climate agreement.
