There is signage in the cafeteria directing student to use our composting program. The work study student works in the fall to ensure students are composting food waste in the cafeteria and in the residences.

Selkirk College has an industrial composter on campus and a work study student which collects and weighs compost waste and maintains and monitors the composting process. During the summer months grounds staff take over these duties.

Furniture is sold off, toner and ink-jet cartridges are recycled, batteries are recycled and any plant waste is put in either the industrial composter or a compost pile on campus.
