This, from part of the findings of Ben Newton, a PhD student in Environmental Resources & Policy program at SIU (research conducted FY11):
There is a 7% increase in GHG emissions from 2006 to 2007. This possibly could be due to switching electric utility providers. The Clean Air Cool Planet calculator used the Main South utility grid from 2001-2006. In 2007, the grid was switched to SERC Midwest. More detailed analyses of specific fuel mix of the purchased electricity provided could account for this increase.
