SIU collects and stores campus ewaste until it is deemed necessary to contact Secure Processors and have the ewaste recycled


A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for institution-generated materials:

Southern Illinois University Carbondale has programs in place to responsibly recycle all off the ewaste that the campus generates. SIU contracts through a company named Secure Processors that handles all of our ewaste. SIU collects and stores campus ewaste until it is deemed necessary to contact Secure Processors and have the ewaste recycled. A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for student-generated materials :

Southern Illinois University Carbondale offers recycling programs for students to recycle their ewaste. During move in and move out recycling events, SIU offers dedicated bins at every residential hall for students to recycle their old electronics responsibly. During the year, SIU offers isolated options for students to recycle their unwanted electronics.
