A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):

Students for Environmental Activism and Knowledge (SEAK), a student-led organization on campus, hosts an Earth Fair during orientation week that is open to all entering students. All of the activities incorporate some sustainability-oriented learning outcome about on-campus sustainability initiatives, global environmental justice, and climate change. When possible, materials used during the Earth Fair are recyclable, vegan, fair-trade, and organic, and this is also incorporated into the learning outcomes for the students who participate.

SEAK members also lead a campus-wide tour for all incoming students to various sites of sustainability on campus, such as past research projects completed by students, the community garden, the greenhouse, and sites of sustainable construction and technology.
