Susquehanna University does not have an open access policy (OA) although the library supports OA in a variety of ways, including our own Institutional Repository and membership in organizations such as the Lever Press.

Discussions of OA policies are underway from the Library Faculty Committee. The LFC made a report to the faculty at the 10/23/17 faculty meeting as part of Open Access Week.

Scholarly Commons will provide universal, open access to the following: faculty and student scholarship as permitted by the rights holder(s) and historic images and recordings to which the University owns the rights.

Scholarly Commons may include metadata-only record or restrict access to users on the SU campus to the following: works for which someone else owns the copyright and we are making available via Fair Use exemption, not-yet-published works by faculty and students who are seeking to publish currently or at a later time.
