Air emissions are checked and reported monthly per requirements of our Title V permit (Clean Air Act). TTU contracts with Environmental Source Sampler, Inc. & PowerSecure, Inc. to provide the air emissions sampling results in report form.
TTU has an operating permit (#71-0035) under Title V of the Federal Clean Air Act and the federal regulations at 40 CFR Part 70. This permit is issued in accordance with the provisions of the Tennessee Air Pollution Control Regulations. The permits includes: 3 natural gas and/or fuel oil fired boilers; 4 diesel engine driven generator sets for
standby (electric grid supply) service; and 1 emergency diesel engine driven generator set.
