Does the institution have a program to reduce residence hall move-in waste?:
Yes

A brief description of the program:

Texas A&M University has pursued cardboard collection and recycling each year since 1997. In its current version, which has been in existence since 2000, bins are set up around centralized solid waste areas in the residence hall areas. These locations are manned through the daylight hours from noon on the first Saturday of move-in until the 6:00 pm of the last Sunday (9 days). Until 2010 TAMU baled the cardboard and sold it through a recycling broker. In 2010 a local commercial recycling opened and we delivered the materials to them for processing. Historically we collect between 25 and 35 tons during the period.
