The Newark Campus does employ a variety of strategies to mitigate the storm water runoff impacts. Examples include silt fencing, retention/detention areas, erosion and sediment control checklists during construction projects, stabilizing dormant areas, properly applying seed and mulch, keeping soil and mud off of public roadways, directing concentrated flows of runoff to sediment ponds, designating washing areas for concrete trucks, stockpiling of soil away from any water course, and when applicable, the creation of a comprehensive storm water pollution prevention plan.
