A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive experience(s) offered by the institution:

Thompson Rivers University offers a number of sustainability focused, immersive experience programs including a Natural Resource Science (NRSC) course in Belize, International Nursing Practicums, Green Building Design, and Horticultural programs. The NRSC course in Belize introduces students to issues and management of natural and cultural resources in a tropical environment. Nursing practicums involve nursing students in the communities in Lesotho, Samoa, Thailand, and in the past Nepal. The School Trades & Technology involves students in the building of the YMCA-YWCA dream home for their annual lottery. These houses have been built as net-zero energy houses to Built Green Gold and Platinum levels. Finally, the Horticultural program is a hands on program on campus which includes sustainability focused courses.
