The TRU Office of Environment and Sustainability website details the initiatives and upcoming events undertaken by the Office. In addition, it describes student and affiliate activities and showcases leaders in sustainability on campus. Finally, it provides helpful links to local groups working towards sustainability, recycling programs, and other Canadian university sustainability programs.

Inside the main entrances of thirteen of TRU's most prominent buildings there are 11"x17" colour info-graphic posters highlighting the green builing features of that particular building.

TRU's Culinary Arts program was an early supporter--and continues to support--TRU's campus composting project. Its cafeteria composts virtually all of its inedible organic waste. Signage to support this initiative is prominently placed throughout the program's facility, including in the public areas especially where cafeteria patrons clean off their plates after their meals.

The TRU Student Union website has two programs that it promotes: U-Pass (free unlimited transit bus pass for all students: http://trusu.ca/services/upass/), and Ride-Share (a student/staff car ride sharing program) (http://trusu.cfs-services.ca/en/ride-share/rides/all). On top of these two, the TRU Office of Environment and Sustainability also promotes its Green Guide--which has a chapter on alternative transportation options--through it's website (listed below).

TRU has three resources to help in this regard: 1) the new TRU Green Guide, which has many helpful hints about how to live in a more sustainable way (see site URL below), and 2 & 3) two pamphlets available electronically (http://www.tru.ca/sustain/people.html). These pamphlets are entitled “40 Steps to Help the Environment” and a “40 Steps to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions.” They detail steps that students living on and off campus can take to reduce their impact on the environment.
