Does the institution have strategies in place to safely dispose of all hazardous, special (e.g. coal ash), universal, and non-regulated chemical waste and seek to minimize the presence of these materials on campus?:
Yes

A brief description of steps taken to reduce hazardous, special (e.g. coal ash), universal, and non-regulated chemical waste:

All hazardous, universal and non-regulated wastes are to be disposed of through EHS. Campus generators of hazardous and universal wastes are required to attend EHS hazardous waste generator training which covers campus hazardous waste identification, management and disposal procedures. Generators are responsible for the identification and proper management of their hazardous wastes off-campus disposal.

TU has an EPA part B hazardous storage facility which is permitted to store hazardous wastes for an unlimited time and also receive hazardous wastes from other UMS institutions for disposal. This facility and campus hazardous waste generators are inspected annually by MDE.

A brief description of how the institution safely disposes of hazardous, universal, and non-regulated chemical waste:

Hazardous, universal and non-regulated wastes that are disposed of through EHS are shipped off-campus IAW EPA and MDE regulations using hazardous waste manifests to EPA approved TSDF’s using approved hazardous waste transporters.
