A brief description of the programs sponsored by the institution to support underrepresented groups:

UDEM has various support programs for minority groups. Some of them are:
1) PYSIE, academic program for disabled people who want to continue their studies after completing their basic training.
2) Students from other states of Mexico.
3) Students with conditioned financial aid, and students with low academic achievement.

For the latter group there are four specific programs of support and monitoring: a) Educational Tutoring Program aimed at developing emotional, social, cognitive and creative capacities, to help raise school performance and prevent withdrawal of students on risk. b) Growing group tutoring, focused on training the student in study skills and organization skills to enable it to achieve significant learning and explore his/her intellectual, emotional and social resources towards a full and comprehensive development . c) Learning Strategy Workshops, which aims to develop in students skills of the learning process, as practical strategies that will facilitate the production of knowledge and the application of the same in each of the areas that their academic university demands, and share tips and advice on best learning practices. d) Psychological Assessment , where study and organizational strategies of the student are evaluate, as well as the application of psychological tests to identify the student's intellectual capacity focusing in low areas in order to design a specific and individual educational work plan allowing specific which allows the student to rehearse the mentioned areas and provide monitoring throughout the semester.

A brief description of the institution’s discrimination response policy, program and/or team:

Any discrimination act committed by students that affects or attempt against the respect and / or dignity of the university community, in any of the following: gender, religious belief, political position, sexual preference, race, color, age or any other characteristic will be directed to the Integrity Center. The complaint is addressed to the disciplinary counselor through a format in which evidence of the act is presented. The disciplinary adviser will call the disciplinary commission to discuss the case. The disciplinary commission consists of 5 of the following: managers, teachers, vice-rectors, and students of the student federation. This information is in the General Regulations of students in Article 49. After the case is analyzed, decisions are made and the sanction is applied if it is approved. The general sanctions range from a warning, hours of social service, temporary suspension or even low of the institution, all this information is found in article 51 of the same regulation.

The disciplinary commission gathers whenever a report of a discrimination or hate crime is made. From a pool of 20 different people, experts in the subject, 5 are choosen to work in the case.
