A brief description of the employee wellness program, policy, or practice:

Wellness Initiatives Network, Inc. (WIN for Alaska, Inc.) provides UAA with "Health In Action" wellness programs that focus on decreasing preventive risk factors. The program offers classes: yoga, Tai Chi, group running, group skiing, etc. Health screenings (blood pressure, cholesterol testing, BMI analysis, and balance) are performed on campus on approximately a quarterly basis. Wellness breaks can be scheduled by departments, which include information on healthy eating, a chair massage and other health information (vaccination information, screening to make sure you are thoroughly washing hands, services available through WIN, etc.). Employees are also offered 6 weeks of Individual Health Planning to bring up health issues they have, develop a plan to address the issue(s) which is tracked over the 6 week period, and obtain advice from experts working at WIN.
