Does the institution have an on-campus garden where students are able to gain organic farming and/or gardening experience?:
Yes

A brief description of the garden:

In 2010, UAF grew 896.5+ pounds of organic produce and herbs for student consumption via the UAF Dining Service. The program has only expanded since then (UAF now has a small mushroom farm and is hydroponically growing salad greens as well as experimenting with new LED grow lights). Students are allowed to work in this garden and gain experience with various organic methods including Integrated Pest Management, vermiculture compost and organic fertilizers. UAF has banned all pesticide use in greenhouses, both for research and food production, and limits pesticide use to spot spraying in campus lawn area.
