A brief description of the institution's indoor air quality plan, policy, and/or practices:

All UAF buildings must meet Federal EPA and State of Alaska Indoor Air Quality Standards. UAF does not monitor air quality. Regular maintenance on our HVAC systems keeps our indoor air quality at a safe and comfortable level. We do have a system in place where anyone can file an air quality complaint if they believe there is an issue and it will be taken care of as soon as possible. Here is an overview of the policy and program. SRC and Wood Center use a CO2 monitor for indoor air quality. We control C02 by air distribution which is based on occupancy.

University of Alaska Board of Regents’ Policy establishes a framework within which the university of administration can effectively and efficiently establish and maintain a risk management and environmental heath and safety program. (Chapter 05.09). The UAF risk management and environmental health and safety office and programs were established and includes general, occupational, and environmental health and safety, environmental protection, general risk management, loss prevention, insurance, and claims administration. The office is administrated by Frances Isgrigg, PE and has a staff of 12 who work to facilitate the federal and state compliance effort while not impeding the activities and responsibilities of each college and university department.

UAF EHS&RM provides technical environmental health, regulatory and related safety, and operational risk management services to the colleges and departments of the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). EHS&RM helps the faculty, staff, and students develop and implement programs, including training, emergency response, analysis of specific environmental problems and operational risk assessment.
EHS&RM works closely with the colleges and departments and the Office of General Counsel to ensure that a unified and consistent University position is provided in response to a governmental inquiry, complaint, or lawsuit.

UAF does not have a regular building air quality monitoring program but have maintain an on line complain or proactive reporting system for unsafe work conditions. http://www.uaf.edu/safety/unsafe-condition/. If a complaint is filed EHS & RM will monitor air quality.
