University of Alaska Fairbanks's "North Campus area (approximately 1,300 acres) is representative of Interior Alaska with soils, topography, plants and wildlife typical of a boreal forest. The North Campus includes outdoor research and instructional areas as well as an extensive system of recreation trails available to the public year-round."
