The charter or mission statement of the committee or a brief description of the committee's purview and activities :

the University of Arkansas Sustainability Council’s task is to develop, coordinate, and recommend campus-based
sustainability projects and policies at the University of Arkansas. The council, comprised of studetnts, faculty, staff and the community, uses 7 categories – or pillars – to guide its work and define the campus’
environmental stewardship mission.
The UASC:
1) will centralize communications about sustainability-related
events and projects at the university;
2) articulates, refines, and promotes the university’s Environmental
Stewardship Mission;
3) facilitates partnerships and collaboration while providing support
for programs and projects;
4) engages the campus and local community in UASC working
groups; and
5) makes policy recommendations to the campus administration
about conservation and sustainable development issues on our
campus.

As coordinator of the sustainability department, Nick Brown oversees all Campus Sustainability Council programs and projects; and is responsible for maintaining data collection and reporting such as the STARS Report,the institutional GHG emissions inventory, U of A Climate Action Plan, and State of Campus Sustainability Report.
