To create, administer, and support campus-wide diversity committees and affinity groups that help to facilitate an on-going dialogue about campus diversity and to develop strategic plans.
To develop and support recruiting and college preparation efforts which attract underrepresented students from across the state and nation.
To develop and support mentoring efforts which assist in improving retention rates for underrepresented students.
To support the efforts of the various colleges to carry-out diversity enhancements as specified in their diversity plans.
To serve as a voice for the university’s diversity message in events around campus and throughout the state and nation.

The Office of Diversity works to promote an inclusive diversity on our university campus which empowers students, staff and faculty to experience opportunities for engaging people of different races, ethnicities, religions, cultures, sexual orientations, disabilities and intellectual proclivities. We believe that enhancing diversity is a vital university objective and critically important to the mission of developing more enlightened, skilled, and socially responsible citizens of the state, nation and world.
