A brief description of how multiple stakeholder groups were involved in developing the plan:

As part a two year process, the Institutional Sustainability Plan (ISP), was developed in collaboration with several stakeholder groups representing a broad cross-section of faculty, staff and students. These groups included:
- Various departmental staff
- Students' Union, Graduate Students Associations, various student clubs
- the Executive Leadership Team
- ISP Task Force
- Deans' Council
- University Planning Committee
- Associate Dean’s Research Council
- General Faculties Council
- Environment, Health, Safety + Sustainability Committee (BOG)
- Board of Governors


A brief description of the plan’s measurable goals :

Largely aligned with STARS, the ISP includes goals, ley performance indicators and multi-year targets for each performance category, an initial set of key actions in more than 17 areas, as well as accountabilities for each vice president.


A brief description of how progress in meeting the plan’s goals is measured:

The Office of Sustainability is responsible for reporting including high level quarterly reporting to the Board of Governors subcommittee for Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability as well as more comprehensive annual progress updates. A comprehensive bienial Institutional Sustainability Report (ISR) is required. As a STARS participant, a bienial progress report will be undertaken. Outcomes from STARS in utilized in the ISR report, the first of which will be published this fall. THE SRI follows Global Reporting Initiative Guidelines and includes progress on targets from the (local partnership).
