The Taylor Family Digital Library grounds utilize a raingarden and stormwater pond to help filter precipitation. The Schulich Engineering Building grounds also include a raingarden and infiltration systems. A bioswale beneath Parking Lot 10 on main campus has been operational since 2009.

The University of Calgary's Integrated Stormwater Management Plan (ISMP) is intended to provide guidance for stormwater management design over the next 30 years, as the main campus undergoes redevelopment and intensification.
