At the College of Natural Resources, students study natural and human systems from biological, ecological, economic, and social science perspectives, engaging the issues that shape the complex, interconnected world of the 21st century, from sustainable food systems to obesity, from water policy to energy economics, and from the far-reaching impacts of climate change to the linkages between the human genome, diet and disease.

The College of Natural Resources has six majors that explicitly emphasize environmental sustainability. They are: Environmental Sciences, Environmental Economics and Policy, Society and Environment, Molecular Environmental Biology, Conservation and Resources Studies, Forestry and Ecosystem Management.

Berkeley offers a masters degree in Sustainable Development and an undergraduate minor in Sustainable Design.

Campuswide, in total, 25 undergraduate majors, 28 graduate programs and 18 undergraduate minors require taking one or more sustainability courses.

All graduates counted as having been covered by a sustainability learning outcome graduated from one of the degree programs listed (which all required one or more sustainability courses). However, we were not able report graduates who only received one of the minors on the list (except for Global Poverty), so this count is an underestimate.
