Workers complete online environmental health & safety training courses and warehouse e-waste management training.

UCI Equipment Management resells useable surplus items and recycles unsold items by selling e-waste to a certified e-waste recycler.


A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for institution-generated materials:

Departments submit the pick-up request form for free pick-up of e-waste items by UCI Equipment Management. See; http://apps.adcom.uci.edu/expresso/econtent/Content.do?resource=3129

The items are then picked up by Electronic Recyclers International, which demonstrates a strong commitment to conserving the environment and supporting social justice, and is certified as gold tier by Green America’s Green Business network.

UCI Equipment Management picks up student-generated e-waste materials from student housing sites, and the e-waste is recycled by Electronic Recyclers International.
