A brief description of the program, policy, or practice:

Arroyo Vista Spectrum House is a unique community that celebrates and affirms the cultural experiences for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, and questioning students and their allies through programming, community development, an increased visibility of LGBT students & issues, and providing a safe space for LGBT students and their allies.

Middle Earth Open House is a non-judgmental space where the diversity of identity and gender expressions is celebrated. It is an open and inclusive community where students are free to be themselves and explore their identity. Open House provides a unique opportunity for personal development in a gender-free, transgender friendly living environment. In conjunction with the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Center, collaborative programs will foster community, encourage self-expression and create an atmosphere of learning. Students living in Open House have the option of choosing to take advantage of the gender-neutral housing option. Gender-neutral housing allows same-gender roommates, opposite-gender roommates, or other gender-identity roommate pairings, regardless of physical sex.
