Initiated in August 2011, the UC system requires that all eligible new construction must attain LEED certification Silver. Project not eligible to receive a LEED certification must be built with the same LEED requirements in mind and document sustainable criteria based on the LEED BD&C 2009 scorecard. Prior to this policy, the UC system adopted “UC Equivalency” for all new construction projects which were based on LEED NC 2.2 credit requirements.
