A brief description of the healthcare facility’s sustainability initiatives:

UCSB’s Student Health protects the long-term well-being of the community by responsibly using the resources entrusted to it and by promoting global thinking and local action. Student Health has many sustainability initiatives including recycling programs, hydration stations, and energy management initiatives through a research project adjusting their heating and cooling systems. They have changed all of their lightbulbs to more efficient lighting, and The Center for Environmental Efficiency and Design retro-commissioned the facility. Student Health is an on-campus acute care facility and entirely owned and operated by UCSB. UCSB does not have a hospital or larger medical center.
