95% of UConn's workers belong to one of 5 state collective bargaining units, including the lowest paid workers.The remaining 5% are either part-time or management exempt. Our "contractor" or part-time employees are classified as "special payroll" and are limited to 17 hours per week, they are durational and they constitute approximately 3% of the total work force over the course of a year.
