Students may have community engagement activities noted on their Co-Curricular Transcript (CCT). The CCT is intended to provide each student with an official record of honors and awards, leadership activities and organizational experiences, professional development and educational training, and community engagement. The CCT provides information on a student’s participation and level of involvement in community engagement among their other co-curricular activities and can be used as a supplement to a student’s resume, in applications for awards, and in applications for scholarships and post-undergraduate programs. Presently, only certain types of community engagement activities are noted on academic transcripts: Dayton Civic Scholars: Prepares civic professionals and citizen leaders through sustained interdisciplinary civic engagement and scholarship with a focus on the city of Dayton. River Stewards: program led by students which brings area jurisdictions together around the common interest of the Great Miami River system. ETHOS (Engineers in Technical Humanitarian Opportunities of Service Learning): Provides experiential learning through service-learning internships, student organization activities, collaborative research and hands-on classroom projects that support the development of appropriate technologies for the developing world, locally and globally. Law School: Students who contribute at least 50 hours of community service and pro bono work with the pro bono commitment to community receive a notation on their transcripts and are entitled to wear a special cord at graduation.
