The graduate program in Energy and Environmental Policy prepares students to contribute to the improvement of environmental and energy policy through the development of an interdisciplinary understanding of the interactions of society, resources, and the environment. The Center for Energy and Environmental Policy (CEEP) offers a Masters degree and a Ph.D. in Energy and Environmental Policy with support by faculty and research centers of the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Business and Economics.

Global climate change, unsustainable population growth, and widespread pollution and degradation of our natural resources are putting immense pressure on the supply and quality of our water resources. Addressing these complex challenges and finding solutions will require a comprehensive, integrated and interdisciplinary approach. Not only must society address the physical, chemical and biological aspects of these problems; society must also ensure that the proposed solutions are socially acceptable, economically viable, and environmentally sustainable. The National Science Foundation, National Academy of Sciences, Congressional Research Service, USGS, NOAA, and USEPA have all concluded that a new interdisciplinary education and research approach is needed that integrates science and policy to address society's emerging challenges in water sustainability. The interdisciplinary graduate program in Water Science and Policy at the University of Delaware is focused on these challenges by training students and professionals who can think broadly across disciplines and simultaneously possess a depth of knowledge to address important water issues.

The graduate certificate provides a foundation of knowledge needed to manage design, product development, buying, promotion, sourcing, and production of apparel, textiles, and footwear in ways that are socially responsible and sustainable.

This interdisciplinary Graduate Certificate in Renewable Energy Engineering and Policy (REEP-CERT) is offered by the University of Delaware’s College of Engineering and administered through the Professional Engineering Outreach Program. It is designed for those with an undergraduate degree in a Science-Technology-Engineering-Math (STEM) field who seek to strengthen their knowledge of renewable energy technologies and policy, and, if course prerequisites are met, can be earned by matriculated graduate students as well as by those in graduate/non-degree status.

Wind power is a rapidly growing and evolving field that crosses traditional academic disciplines and increasingly requires practitioners who understand the relationships among the various components of wind turbines, the environment, regulations, and society. Those aspiring to work and advance in the field must have a basic understanding of: wind turbine mechanical and electrical systems, including the integration of variable generation into the electrical grid; the multiple factors (e.g., meteorological, ecological, geological, cultural) governing selection of optimum sites to locate wind power projects; the economics and regulatory policies governing wind power; and the complex ways in which society’s understanding and acceptance of renewable energy power generation can impact wind projects.
