A brief description of the institution’s sustainability partnerships with the local community:
The University of Iowa and Iowa City have built strong and collaborative partnerships to promote sustainability on the campus and in the community. Examples include UniverCity, Bongo,and Zipcar. The University of Iowa is also a partner of the Iowa City Downtown District which seeks to forge an exciting and deliberate path forward towards cultural vibrancy, resiliency, and sustainability.
Recently, the University of Iowa Office of Sustainability collaborated with the City of Iowa City to assist in the preparation of the city's Sustainability Assessment.
