Parking and Transportation
"---" indicates that no data was submitted for this field

Total percentage of students (graduate and undergraduate) that use more sustainable commuting options as their primary means of transportation:
90

A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:

Students that are not travelling with a car with only the driver in the car are assumed to be travelling sustainably. This is determined by letting p=0.1 be the fraction of students who possess a student parking permit, which is determined by the empirical fraction of students who have a parking permit. Then, 1-p=0.9 yields the fraction of students who are travelling sustainbly. The University produced a campus-wide survey approximately five years ago that produced similar results (93%). Considering that the demographic makeup of the Univerity has not shifted dramatically, and that petterns of residence have not shifted, the results of the past survey can still be used to justify the current estimate.

The percentage of students that use each of the following modes as their primary means of transportation to get to and from campus::
Percentage (0-100)
Commute with only the driver in the vehicle (excluding motorcycles and scooters) 9.50
Walk, bicycle, or use other non-motorized means 19.63
Vanpool or carpool 0
Take a campus shuttle or public transportation 5.72
Use a motorcycle, scooter or moped 3.58
