All new building and renovations above $5 million must be LEED certified and all construction and renovation less than $5 million should follow LEED guidelines. These policies will ensure that our C & D diversion will be handled in the most environmentally responsible way.

Also, the units reported here are cubic yards because this was the unit of measure used during the LEED certification of this project.
Since the STARS document did not define “major project” we used the Council on Postsecondary Educations definition stating that a major renovation is one that exceeds 50% of a buildings insured value. We also assumed new construction must exceed $600K in keeping with KRS definitions of capital project. We assumed a 3 year window based on the last three fiscal years. Given these assumptions we only have one project (Digital Village) to report on.
