Does the institution's GHG emissions inventory include all Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions?:
Yes

Does the institution's GHG emissions inventory include all Scope 3 GHG emissions from any of the following categories?:
Yes or No
Business travel Yes
Commuting Yes
Purchased goods and services No
Capital goods No
Fuel- and energy-related activities not included in Scope 1 or Scope 2 Yes
Waste generated in operations Yes

Does the institution's GHG emissions inventory include Scope 3 emissions from other categories?:
No

A brief description of the methodology and/or tool used to complete the GHG emissions inventory:

We use the Clean Air Cool Planet Calculator for our inventories. We have complete inventories for 2007-2013.

Has the GHG emissions inventory been validated internally by personnel who are independent of the GHG accounting and reporting process and/or verified by an independent, external third party?:
No

A brief description of the internal and/or external verification process:

Our inventories were prepared by a team including a third party consultant, Office of Sustainability, and Campus Utilities with input from a large number of other campus units.

A brief description of the institution’s GHG emissions reduction initiatives, including efforts made during the previous three years:

Primary effort over previous three years was the completion of a 7-year inventory of ghg emissions and assessment of 27 potential mitigation strategies. This report, completed in the summer of 2014, forms the foundation for a GHG Emissions Reduction Plan that will be completed by the end of the fall semester 2015.

That said, we have several on-going initiatives that have had significant impacts on our emissions however the primary catalyst for those efforts was sustainability-in-general.

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

MTCO2e for Purchased Goods is based only on paper purchases.

Numbers of residential students in performance year and baseline year are both estimates based on bedcount. Campus housing had difficulty reporting the actual occupancy due to a change in systems that resulted from the demolition of some of the residence halls that were in place during those years. Our occupancy rates were steady across those years and we did not add or reduce our total bedcount during that period.
