The Office of Institutional Diversity works across academic and non-academic units to implement ideas, collaborate on outreach and recuritment efforts, enhance student retention and achievement. The Office of Institutional Diversity works specifically on Goal IV of the University Strategic Plan: Promote Diversity and Inclusion. The office serves the entire University community.

A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:

The Dean of Students Office has increased the diversity options available within UK101 and 201 classes. The Residence Life Office sponsors several cultural training opportunities, for example,a Diversity Series each fall and spring for Resident Advisers; and "Managing Diverse Communities" workshops. The Office of Human Resources offers several training opportunities for Faculty and Staff such as The Basics of Diversity; the Humanity Academy and the Workplace Civility and Ethics Workshop. The Office of Institutional Equity offers on-going Equal Opportunity training.
