Bike Repair Stations

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:

The University of Manitoba has provided two bicycle repair facilities at the Fort Garry Campus. One of which is a self-serve repair station located adjacent to an enclosed bike parking facility. This is the first such repair facility in Winnipeg. The other is locally known as the 'Bike Dungeon', and is a student group run initiative which offers basic bike repair, and bike repair workshops to assist patrons who are in need.

A brief description of any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation (if not reported above):

The investment in bike repair stations has in turn, increased reliability of bicycle transportation. It has also increased knowledge across the campus cycling community with regards to basic bike maintenance procedures. The support available through bike repair stations helps to encourage more students and staff to ride their bikes to the Fort Garry campus.
