A brief description of the institution’s workplace health and safety initiatives:

In 2011 the University adopted a revised Health and Safety Policy. The revision retains the University's committment to provide a safe and health workplace for staff, students and visitors but clarifies that the responsibility and accountabiity for health and safety is an integral part of the duties of supervisory staff at all levels, including the seniour executive.

HEALTH & SAFETY PROCEDURES
Specific Procedures have been adopted under the Health and Safety Policy. The latest Procedures are available on the UniversityGovernance page.

HEALTH & SAFETY GENERAL ORIENTATION
The Introduction to Health and Safety Programs at the University of Manitoba presentation provides an introduction to the safety and health programs in place at the University of Manitoba. You may work through it at your own pace and complete the acknowledgement at the end of the presentation.The information provided is general in nature, and highlights many of the programs in place. It is not intended to be a comprehensive review of all elements of the program. HEALTH AND SAFETY COMMITTEES
Health and safety committees allow front-line staff to actively participate in health and safety matters at the University and assist supervisors in recognizing and responding to workplace safety and health issues.

SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS
