A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:
The University of Manitoba’s main campus is the Fort Garry campus which is located in south Winnipeg. The main campus features over 60 major buildings for teaching, recreation, administrative purposes, residences, libraries and research.
The Bannatyne campus, located in downtown Winnipeg, is a 10 building complex which hosts medical, dental and other health related programs and research.
The William Norrie Centre is a single building located in north Winnipeg which hosts the department of Social Work’s Inner City Social Work Program.
The Ian N. Morrison Research Farm is a 406 acre facility located 70 km southwest of Winnipeg and is operated by the Department of Plant Science. In addition to the landbase and equipment storage facilities, there is a building with wet lab, seed lab and cleaning equipment, computer facilities, and classrooms for teaching and extension programs.
The Glenlea Research Station is a 1000 acre facility located 20 km south of Winnipeg, operated by the Department of Animal Science. It houses the University’s dairy and swine herds.

The University of Manitoba has three main locations—the Bannatyne Campus, the Fort Garry Campus and the William Norrie Centre. The main Fort Garry campus (located on the Red River in south Winnipeg) comprises over 60 teaching and research buildings of the University and sits on 233 hectares (580 acres) of land.
